What is Play Based Intervention Counselling?
Play-based intervention is a child-centred approach that employs research-backed play techniques, enabling children to identify, express, and process their emotions. This method offers a secure and supportive environment for healing following traumatic and challenging life experiences.
Due to their age and developmental stage, children do not express their thoughts and feelings in the same way as adults do in talk therapy.
During tough and traumatic experiences, children often grapple with intense emotions and struggle to identify and comprehend what they are feeling. These internalised emotional struggles often present as angry outbursts or increased withdrawal.
Play-based intervention therapy offers a valuable approach to promote expression and healing by engaging with the child’s inner world through the art of play.
